The Mountain Top Children’s Museum, Inc. (MTCM) is pleased to offer child-care organizations and elementary school classrooms science workshop opportunities in the 20/21 school year. With the support of The Summit Foundation, MTCM is able to offer these workshops for free to a limited number of classrooms. Workshops will include a variety of science and art activities as well as take home projects, planned and implemented by the MTCM staff. In an effort to keep staff and students safe while also supporting the science curriculum, we are offering the following options:
Workshop Kits with Online Support: To minimize exposure, MTCM is offering our workshops to be delivered to your classroom with materials and directions for each workshop. Online support via Zoom will be available at a pre-registered time. Please allow for at least 1 hour for workshops.
Outdoor Workshop: MTCM will set up outside your classroom door for the science workshop/demonstration. Each child will be given a tray to use for their hands-on activity, if applicable. Depending on weather, this workshop will require children to dress warm to attend a 1 hour workshop. Rescheduling due to weather is OK.
Choose from a menu of theme related workshops or work with MTCM to create a workshop designed to fit with your classroom curriculum. All classroom workshops are to be reserved in advance and be scheduled before the school year is over in June of 2021. Scheduling is on a first come, first serve basis. We look forward to giving your classroom an experience to grow their love for science!
